The Warranty Terms

Every current Coleman furnace — entry-level 80% AFUE through the CP9C flagship — carries the same core warranty: 5 years base parts, 20 years base heat exchanger, and 10 years parts plus lifetime heat exchanger when registered within 90 days of installation. Labour coverage is not included, and most models do not include unit replacement.

The exceptions are two models — the TL9E and TL8E — which swap the structure somewhat. On these two, extended heat exchanger coverage is capped at 20 years (not lifetime), but they add a 5-year unit replacement provision that the other models don't offer. All other warranty terms remain identical.

Registration Is Required

To unlock the extended coverage (10 years parts, lifetime or 20 years heat exchanger), the furnace must be registered through Johnson Controls within 90 days of installation.

If that window is missed, coverage reverts to the base terms: 5 years parts and 20 years heat exchanger only. The 90-day window is actually on the more forgiving end compared to competitors — Amana and Lennox both require registration within 60 days — and it's standard across the Johnson Controls family, with York and Luxaire using the same 90-day rule.
