Good: Warranty coverage is a key element to consider when researching which high-efficiency natural gas furnace is right for you.  Napoleon® takes the worry out for many Canadian consumers with their 10 year and 15 year unit replacement warranty coverage.  The affordability of a Napoleon® home heating systems is on par with other manufacturers in the mid-range priced brand tier.

Also, many of Napoleon®‘s furnaces tend to operate very quietly, which is a nice feature.

Want: Offer a modulating furnace. Napoleon® does offer two-stage burners on some models, but none that appear to be truly variable, meaning that the burner would adjust precisely to the output needed, saving energy.

Adding a modulating furnace to their product line up would allow Napoleon®  to be competitive with other mid-range priced brands, such as: Coleman®, ComfortMaker®, Heil®, and Luxaire® to name a few. Admittedly, the difference between a good two-stage burner and a modulating burner may not be huge, but it’s not non-existent either.

The Bottom Line: Napoleon® provides good value for consumers looking to upgrade to a thoughtfully-designed high-efficiency furnace. Napoleon® furnaces may not have all the gimmicks of some high-priced competitors, but they provide a solid home heating solutions and a fair price. And for many people, the fact that they’re Canadian owned and operated is a nice bonus.

I have purchased a 9700 high efficiency great product very quiet. Am now in the process of looking to purchase another with a/c unit for my son.

Have now had a Napoleon Ultimate 9700 furnace for almost two years and have not experienced any problems so far. I understand they are made in Canada which was part of my buying decision. Very nice quality product

Vince Burll

We are currently looking at the same furnace. Are you still happy with it? And how is the noise level. Thanks

David Januczkowski

The furnace is quieter than our old Canadian made Lennox Pulse. It has a fully insulated cabinet and UV light to disinfect the airflow. Only mainstream residential gas furnace made in Canada. We haven’t had a problem for 3 years since installation.
