In order to help homeowners shop for furnaces and air conditioners, we developed our own proprietary algorithms which weigh a range of criteria and factors to provide an easy-to-compare grade (e.g. B-, A+, etc).
Warranty Grade: It can be difficult to know which brands and models offer the best warranty coverage, particularly because a lot of the key details are hidden in dense warranty documents filled with hard to understand legalese. Thankfully for you, we’ve carefully studied them and created this grading system to account for things like the length AND quality of their guarantee, coverage restrictions and more!
Overall Grade: This grade weighs key factors like efficiency, ENERGY STAR certification, comfort, noise level (for A/Cs), our warranty grade, and more.

The Daikin DC92SS Single-stage, Multi-speed, Multi-position Gas Furnace brings older technology into the present. While it may be single-stage, it still manages to hold its own in terms of energy efficiency.

Features Explained
Multi-speed blower motor - This unit’s multi-speed blower motor gives it its high-efficiency capability while also contributing to its reduced noise factor. Its ability to run at several different speeds means that it can more quickly, and with increased accuracy.
Heavy-duty stainless-steel tubular heat exchanger - The heat exchanger is the most expensive part to replace in your home heating unit, so you want one that is built to last. Daikin manufactures its furnaces with a stainless-steel tubular heat exchanger which is stronger, more durable and more resistant to corrosion than the often-used aluminum.
AFUE: 92% - Despite being a single-stage furnace, the DC92SS has enough innovative features that it is included in the high-efficiency range. For every dollar that you spend on fuel heating your home, 92 cents of that is converted to heat used in keeping your home comfortable.
Other Key Features
- Quiet single-speed induced draft blower
- Self-diagnostic control board
- Multi-position installation: upflow / horizontal left or right
Warranty Information
One of the great aspects of the Daikin warranty package is the Daikin Comfort Promise. This promise guarantees that, for up to one year after the installation of your furnace, you can call upon your Daikin Comfort Professional. The professional will make a home visit, free of charge, to resolve any issues you might be having with your unit.
The Daikin warranty for this unit also includes:
- Lifetime limited heat exchanger warranty
- 12-year parts limited warranty
Comparable Models by the Same Brand
By lower price: Daikin DC92SS vs. Daikin DM92SS
These two furnaces are directly comparable in every way, including in terms of efficiency and features. Daikin gives them a similar pricing band, but you may be able to find one model at a more modest price than the other. The other, lower cost furnaces that Daikin has on offer top out at just 80% AFUE and are not generally sold in Canada, because they do not meet the government mandated minimum for high efficiency.
By features: Daikin DC92SS vs. Daikin DC96VE
The single-stage DC92SS has a respectable 92% AFUE, but the DC96VE, dual-stage with a multi-speed ECM, has it beat with 96%. Both have a similar warranty and an insulated cabinet, but the DC96VE has a 6-year unit replacement limited warranty and fully insulated cabinet.
By tier: Daikin DC92SS vs. Daikin DM96HS
Both the DC92SS and the DM96HS have a quiet single-speed induced draft blower, an insulated cabinet, and a self-diagnostic control board. The DM96HS has some extras, which come along with a higher price tag, like a cabinet that is fully insulated, as opposed to foil-faced, a control board with constant memory fault code history output to a LED and the added 6-year unit replacement limited warranty.
