Every current York furnace carries the same core warranty structure: 5-year base parts warranty and 20-year base heat exchanger, extended to 10-year parts and (on most models) lifetime heat exchanger when registered within 90 days of installation. No current York furnace includes a factory labour warranty.

Unit replacement and extended heat exchanger terms vary enough by tier to be worth spelling out:

Registration is required

All extended-term coverage — 10-year parts, lifetime (or 20-year) heat exchanger, and any unit replacement coverage — is contingent on registering the furnace within 90 days of installation. Miss that window and coverage drops to the base 5-year parts and 20-year heat exchanger. Confirm with your installer that registration is being handled as part of the install, and follow up to verify through York's registration portal.

Note for Quebec residents: Quebec consumer protection law prohibits conditioning warranty coverage on registration. You automatically receive the full extended warranty terms without needing to register — the registration deadline doesn't apply.

A separate item worth asking about upfront: some York dealers require an ongoing paid maintenance agreement to keep the warranty in effect. This isn't universal and it isn't a Johnson Controls-level policy, but it comes up enough in owner feedback to warrant a direct question before you sign.
