In order to help homeowners shop for furnaces and air conditioners, we developed our own proprietary algorithms which weigh a range of criteria and factors to provide an easy-to-compare grade (e.g. B-, A+, etc).
Warranty Grade: It can be difficult to know which brands and models offer the best warranty coverage, particularly because a lot of the key details are hidden in dense warranty documents filled with hard to understand legalese. Thankfully for you, we’ve carefully studied them and created this grading system to account for things like the length AND quality of their guarantee, coverage restrictions and more!
Overall Grade: This grade weighs key factors like efficiency, ENERGY STAR certification, comfort, noise level (for A/Cs), our warranty grade, and more.

In a Nutshell
Average Price (installed): $4,670 - $5,500
Top Features
- Variable-speed blower motor paired with a modulating gas valve which allows the furnace to run at lower speeds to save energy
- Advanced RPJ (Rigid Press Joint) aluminized steel heat exchangers that help to capture additional heat that’s generated by the furnace
- Wi-fi enabled remote access with the ION System Control
The Bottom Line
KeepRite has a reputation for offering well-priced furnaces with good warranty coverage. The KeepRite ProComfort Deluxe Series G9MAE may be in the upper-tier of KeepRite’s pricing, but you’re purchasing a well-rounded, highly efficient modulating furnace that can hold its own against many of the “premium” tier furnaces offered by competitors.

Modulating Gas Valve
The modulating gas valve allows the furnace to save energy (reducing costs) by operating at a lower temperature for most of the time. When the furnace recognizes the need to increase the temperature of your home, it can smoothly ramp up the heat in small increments until the desired temperature is reached.
ION System Control
More than just a standard thermostat, the ION System control can control temperature, humidity, dehumidification, ventilation, and indoor air quality. It also offers easier access as it allows you the ability to connect to the system remotely as long as you have internet access, making it easy to change the settings on your furnace wherever you are.
Warranty Information
KeepRite is well known for their excellent warranties. The KeepRite ProComfort Deluxe Series G9MAE is backed by the No Hassle Replacement limited warranty, guaranteeing the purchaser a replacement unit if a defect is detected by the ION Communicating System Control in the first ten years. In addition to this, the furnace is backed by a 10-year parts limited warranty and a lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger - but be sure to register in the first 90 days or these warranties are cut in half.
Comparable Models by KeepRite
Model comparison by lower price – KeepRite ProComfort Deluxe Series G9MAE versus KeepRite ProComfort Series G9MXT
Although still a top-quality furnace, the G9MXT is slightly less efficient than the G9MAE. Whereas the G9MAE comes in at a phenomenal 97-98% AFUE rating, meaning that 97/98 cents in every dollar will go towards heating your home, the G9MXT features an AFUE of 96%. However, you also lose the impressive ION System Control that’s sported by the G9MAE, which could be a loss to those that are looking for a top-range furnace with top-range features.
Model Comparison by features – KeepRite ProComfort Deluxe Series G9MAE versus KeepRite ProComfort Deluxe Series G9MVE
The G9MAE and G9MVE have many similarities, but one of their differences is the control system. The G9MAE comes equipped with the ION System Control, and the G9MVE comes fitted with the Observer Communicating Wall Control. Both are WI-FI enabled, and both offer intelligent diagnostics. Aesthetically, the ION System control has a better touchscreen and is visually more pleasing and includes the impressive one-button “Touch-N-Go” quick settings change feature. However, the Observer wall control features a four-wire installation making it quick and easy to install. This one comes down to personal preference!
Model comparison by lower Tier – KeepRite ProComfort Deluxe Series G9MAE versus Keeprite Performance Series N9MSB
The N9MSB is one of the most affordable offerings by KeepRite. However, the G9MAE and the N9MSB are opposite ends of the spectrum so expect some major differences. For a lower price, you’re sacrificing the G9MAE’s excellent 97-98% AFUE rating for the N9MSB’s 92.1% AFUE rating. Although still a high-efficiency furnace, the N9MSB will cost you more over time due to the fact the furnace is not able to utilize as much energy in every dollar towards heating your home. You’re also trading in multiple features such as the ION system control, and the modulating gas valves.
