Every American Standard heat pump carries the same base coverage: five years on parts and five years on the compressor. Registering the system extends parts coverage to 10 years across the entire lineup, and compressor coverage to either 10 or 12 years depending on the series.
Platinum and Gold models get the 12-year compressor term. The Silver series and the Single-Zone Quest get 10 years.

Registration is required
Coverage only extends to the registered terms if the system is registered within 60 days of installation. Miss the window and you drop back to five years on both parts and the compressor, which halves the protection you have already paid for.
Confirm your installer has actually submitted the registration and keep the confirmation. Homeowners in Quebec are exempt from the registration requirement under provincial consumer protection law and receive the extended terms automatically.
How it compares
The registered terms are competitive. A 10-year parts and 12-year compressor package matches what Carrier and Lennox offer at comparable tiers, and Trane's terms are effectively identical given the shared parent.
Where American Standard falls behind is what sits around that coverage. No model in the lineup includes a labour allowance or a unit replacement provision. Goodman and Amana both include unit replacement on much of their range, and several competitors offer limited labour coverage at their premium tiers.
