New Furnace Prices in Sudbury
Average* furnace price in Sudbury (including install):
$3000 – $5500
*note many factors can affect price, see further down for details
Higher than average
Slightly above-average price range, which may be due to factors like a more complicated installation, or purchasing a top-of-the-line unit or premium brand.
Typical price range: $3000 – $5500
The average price range for a typical high-efficiency unit with a typical installation from an established, fully licensed & insured local HVAC contractor. Prices will vary within this range based on installation factors, brand & model, unit size/BTU output & efficiency, among other things.
Lower than average
Below-market pricing; be careful if the price is exceptionally low. The lower the price is below average, the higher likelihood that you may receive a more hastily done installation, low-end or used components, limited labour warranty coverage & ongoing support, or the company may be less established or lacking in insurance and/or licensing & certification.

Buying a New Furnace in Sudbury
The Four Seasons Of Your Furnace
A long-lasting and efficient home heating system starts with professional installation and continues with regular, effective maintenance.
But, what maintenance needs to be done?
To demystify the maintenance process, we look at what you should be doing each season to keep your high-efficiency working at peak performance.
We only cover basic, routine maintenance of a gas or propane high-efficiency furnace that can be done easily, with just a few household items. More in-depth maintenance or repairs should only be done by a qualified professional.
*Ensure that you have switched off the power to your furnace and that the gas is turned off before performing any routine maintenance. If you are unsure, don’t do it—hire a professional.
Fall
- Have your HVAC system serviced.
- Check your ducts to make sure that they are properly sealed.
- Consider whether you would like to have your ducts cleaned in preparation for the months of heavy use ahead.
- Vacuum the burners and the blower compartment.
- Gently clean the blower blades with a vacuum and small brush.
- Clean the pilot by gently blowing on it (focus your air flow using a drinking straw).
- Once you start using your furnace, check the air filter once a month.
- Change the air filter, as needed, but at a minimum, every 3 months.
Winter
- Now that your home heating system is in full swing, recheck your ductwork, making sure that the ducts are well-sealed. Properly sealed ducts will prevent heat loss and result in higher energy costs.
- After a significant snowfall, visually check the two plastic pipes going outside from your high-efficiency furnace (one is the exhaust and the other the intake). Pipes can frost over or can get plugged up with snow. Clear pipes to ensure that your furnace’s safety switch isn’t activated (the furnace will turn itself off if it cannot exhaust).
- Check your air filter monthly.
- Change the air filter, as needed, but at a minimum, every 3 months.
Spring
- Have your HVAC system serviced, if you didn’t do so in autumn.
- In early spring, your furnace may still be in use, if so, remember to keeping checking your air filter monthly.
- Change the air filter, as needed, but at a minimum, every 3 months.
- Prepare your air conditioning unit for the warmer months.
Summer
