In order to help homeowners shop for furnaces and air conditioners, we developed our own proprietary algorithms which weigh a range of criteria and factors to provide an easy-to-compare grade (e.g. B-, A+, etc).
Warranty Grade: It can be difficult to know which brands and models offer the best warranty coverage, particularly because a lot of the key details are hidden in dense warranty documents filled with hard to understand legalese. Thankfully for you, we’ve carefully studied them and created this grading system to account for things like the length AND quality of their guarantee, coverage restrictions and more!
Overall Grade: This grade weighs key factors like efficiency, ENERGY STAR certification, comfort, noise level (for A/Cs), our warranty grade, and more.

The Coleman CC7 is a reliable and economical single-stage air conditioner that boasts a high SEER rating and ENERGY STAR® certification. Along with saving on upfront costs compared to more expensive brands, the CC7 will also save you plenty on your monthly energy bills thanks to its many performance and efficiency boosting features. Although the CC7 is somewhat basic in terms of additional features and technologies, it does offer quiet operation, dependable performance, and high-efficiency cooling at an affordable price.
About the Coleman CC7
Average Price (with installation): $4500 - $5500
Top Features
- Small footprint is ideal for small homes and spaces
- Budget-friendly
- Backed by a great warranty
- Noise reducing features for quiet performance
- Designed for lasting and reliable operation
- High-efficiency rating and ENERGY STAR® certification for lower energy bills and potential rebates
The Bottom Line
Because the CC7 only has a single-stage compressor, it’s not as advanced as other air conditioners on the market, and can't offer the same humidity control or temperature maintenance as a cooling system with a two-stage or variable-speed compressor. It does, however, have a high SEER rating, so you'll cut your cooling bills by upgrading from an older and less efficient unit. The CC7 is also backed by a great warranty, which could save you plenty more on repair costs if you encounter any problems within 10 years of installing the unit.

Comparable Models by Coleman
Model Comparison by Price: Coleman CC7 versus Coleman AC21
The AC21 is the premier air conditioner in Coleman’s line, and also the most expensive. But with the additional cost of the AC21 you get several superior features as well, including a SEER rating of 20, and a variable-speed compressor for quieter operation and enhanced efficiency, temperature maintenance, and humidity control. The AC21 also has lifetime warranty coverage for the compressor, and is compatible with a smart thermostat for improved performance and efficiency.
Model Comparison by Features: Coleman CC7 versus Coleman CC17
The CC17 is one step up from the CC7, but it’s superior in many ways. Although it comes with a slightly higher price tag, the CC17 also has a more advanced two-stage compressor for quieter operation, better humidity control, and more consistent temperature maintenance. Further, the CC17 has a more advanced tube-in-fin coil, and comes with a lifetime warranty for the compressor. Plus, it offers the same perks and features as the CC7, including the small footprint, noise-reducing features, and protective components to guarantee durability and lasting performance.
Model Comparison by Tier: Coleman CC7 versus Coleman TC4
The TC4 is in the same LX tier as the CC7 and in a similar price range, but it is a couple hundred dollars cheaper. The compromise with the lower price tag is that you don’t get ENERGY STAR certification, and the TC4 only has a SEER rating of 14, meaning you won’t cut your energy bills by as much as with the CC7. Aside from that, the two models are similar in terms of features, compressor style, compact size, cooling output, noise levels, and more.
