The warranty terms
Trane's warranty depends on the model tier. Ducted systems carry a 5-year base warranty on parts and the compressor; ductless mini-splits carry a 1-year base. Registering the unit is where coverage becomes competitive — parts extend to 10 years across the board, and the compressor extends to 10 or 12 years depending on the model. Unit-replacement and labour coverage are not included as standard on any tier.

The extended terms apply only when the unit is registered within 60 days of installation.
