In order to help homeowners shop for furnaces and air conditioners, we developed our own proprietary algorithms which weigh a range of criteria and factors to provide an easy-to-compare grade (e.g. B-, A+, etc).
Warranty Grade: It can be difficult to know which brands and models offer the best warranty coverage, particularly because a lot of the key details are hidden in dense warranty documents filled with hard to understand legalese. Thankfully for you, we’ve carefully studied them and created this grading system to account for things like the length AND quality of their guarantee, coverage restrictions and more!
Overall Grade: This grade weighs key factors like efficiency, ENERGY STAR certification, comfort, noise level (for A/Cs), our warranty grade, and more.

As the newest addition to York’s popular split system LX™ Series, the YCS model is a compact and reliable air conditioning unit. While this unit is modest in size, it more than makes it up with a SEER Rating of up to 14 and reliable performance tested in York’s extreme, 5-year accelerated test facility.
The LX™ Series YCS system proves its reliability with a new and improved, high-efficiency microchannel aluminum coil which ensures reliable operation in smaller unit size. The small size of this model is great for homeowners seeking a unit for tighter spaces. It’s also easier to handle, transport, and install.

Comparable Models by York
Model Comparison by Features
When it comes to features, Canadian consumers can expect to find a fairly limited selection of innovative technologies with the YCS model. When compared to the LX™ Series YCG system, you’ll find that the YCS system is much more modest when it comes to amenities, largely because it’s not ENERGY Star®-certified.
Model Comparison by Price
The LX™ Series YCS boasts a relatively lower initial cost when compared to its LX™ counterparts, and a significantly lower cost than the Affinity™ Series models. However, its SEER Rating falls on the lower end of the spectrum compared to other high-efficiency models, which ultimately hinders its long-term costs.
Model Comparison by Tier
Belonging to York’s standard-efficiency line, the LX™ Series YCS is among the lower range of air conditioners. While this model doesn’t offer the same abundance of technologies found in higher-tier air conditioners, the YCS remains efficient and reliable thanks to the well-conceived design.
