In order to help homeowners shop for furnaces and air conditioners, we developed our own proprietary algorithms which weigh a range of criteria and factors to provide an easy-to-compare grade (e.g. B-, A+, etc).
Warranty Grade: It can be difficult to know which brands and models offer the best warranty coverage, particularly because a lot of the key details are hidden in dense warranty documents filled with hard to understand legalese. Thankfully for you, we’ve carefully studied them and created this grading system to account for things like the length AND quality of their guarantee, coverage restrictions and more!
Overall Grade: This grade weighs key factors like efficiency, ENERGY STAR certification, comfort, noise level (for A/Cs), our warranty grade, and more.

Features Overview

PermaGuard cabinet and SmartHinge louver design: The exterior of this model has been specially designed to resist rust and corrosion, guaranteeing it’s one of the most durable and long-lasting air conditioners on the market.
iComfort: The XC25 is compatible with the iComfort programmable touchscreen thermostat, which is a Wi-Fi enabled smart thermostat that allows you to control the temperature settings in your home without even being there.
Precise Comfort: Precise Comfort technology is a unique operating and control system that can adjust the cooling output of the XC25 by as little as 1 percent, ensuring that your home is always at the ideal temperature.
Climate IQ Technology: With the XC25, you can choose an appropriate setting for your climate, and the Climate IQ technology will automatically adjust the airspeed and humidity controls to ensure your home is always comfortable, no matter what the climate outside is like.

Comparable Models by Lennox
Lennox has many air conditioners available in their premium, mid-range, and low-tier series, including comparable models with similar features and more affordable models for people with stricter budgets.
Model Comparison by Price: Lennox XC25 versus Lennox EL16XC1
The EL16XC1 is part of Lennox’s mid-range Elite series, so you'll save several hundred dollars or more by opting for the lower tier but will still get many of the great features that make Lennox appealing. The EL16XC1 is only a single-stage air conditioner, but it still has a SEER rating of 17 and is ENERGY STAR certified, meaning you'll save money on the initial investment and still lower your monthly energy bills.
Model Comparison by Features: Lennox XC25 versus Lennox XC20
The Lennox XC20 is also part of the Elite series, but still has many of the same great features and technological compatibilities as the XC25. The XC20 has a variable-speed compressor, is ENERGY STAR certified, has a SEER rating up to 20, is compatible with the Humiditrol whole-home dehumidification system, and has the iComfort technology. Although the XC20 doesn’t have the Precise Comfort or SilentComfort technologies, it still has a sound-dampening design for quiet operation.
Model Comparison by Tier: Lennox XC25 versus Lennox XC21
The next model down from the XC25 is the XC21, which has a SEER rating up to 21, meaning it’s still a highly efficient cooling system, even though it has a two-stage compressor instead of a variable-speed one. The XC21 also doesn’t have the Precise Comfort technology, but it is compatible with the Humiditrol system, so it’s a reliable and more affordable alternative to the XC25.
