In order to help homeowners shop for furnaces and air conditioners, we developed our own proprietary algorithms which weigh a range of criteria and factors to provide an easy-to-compare grade (e.g. B-, A+, etc).
Warranty Grade: It can be difficult to know which brands and models offer the best warranty coverage, particularly because a lot of the key details are hidden in dense warranty documents filled with hard to understand legalese. Thankfully for you, we’ve carefully studied them and created this grading system to account for things like the length AND quality of their guarantee, coverage restrictions and more!
Overall Grade: This grade weighs key factors like efficiency, ENERGY STAR certification, comfort, noise level (for A/Cs), our warranty grade, and more.

The Infinity 26 24VNA6 is Carrier’s most sophisticated, most expensive, and most efficient air conditioner. It has all the additional features and technologies that Carrier offers to enhance convenience, improve energy performance, reduce humidity, and provide quiet comfort all summer long.
The Infinity 26 24VNA6 is a very powerful air conditioner. It has a 26 SEER, so it’s probably more powerful than most Canadians need to keep their homes comfortable in our relatively mild and short summers.
You'll spend a lot of money for a Carrier air conditioner that’s as sophisticated and efficient as the Infinity 26 24VNA6, but you probably won’t make that extra money back on energy savings. But in case you are interested in the Infinity 26 24VNA6, this model review will tell you everything it has to offer and compare it to three other A/C options from Carrier’s line.
The Carrier Infinity 26 24VNA6 in a Nutshell
Average Price (with installation): $5,000 to $7,500+
Top Features
- Extremely quiet operation
- Backed by a good warranty
- Highly efficient
- Great moisture control
- Uses a refrigerant that doesn’t deplete ozone
- Bluetooth enabled to allow for faster and easier maintenance
- Durable components that are designed to withstand the elements
The Bottom Line
The Infinity 26 24VNA6 is equipped with a highly efficient variable-speed compressor. That means the system can make incremental adjustments to the cooling output. In fact, it can operate anywhere between 25 and 100 percent capacity.
There are many benefits to a variable-speed compressor, including that it can maximize energy efficiency while also making sure your home is at the ideal temperature. Variable-speed air conditioners operate at lower capacities for longer periods to deliver a consistent flow of cool air without using too much energy or making too much noise.
As a result, variable-speed air conditioners are quieter than single- or two-stage ones, and they're better at managing humidity and eliminating hot/cold spots throughout the house.
Beyond that, the Infinity 26 24VNA6 is also equipped with an inverter, which enables the system to consider thermostat settings, humidity, and indoor and outdoor temperatures when making adjustments to the comfort settings.
In Depth Review
Carrier Infinity 26 24VNA6 Product Specifications
- Compressor: Variable-speed
- SEER: 26
- ENERGY STAR® certified: Yes
- Decibel rating: As low as 51
Features Overview
One of the features that makes the Infinity 26 24VNA6 so impressive is Carrier’s Greenspeed Intelligence technology. You get access to this feature when you pair the Infinity 26 24VNA6 with Carrier’s proprietary smart thermostat, the Infinity System Control.
Ultimately, Greenspeed Intelligence gives you more control over the temperature and humidity settings in your home while also ensuring the system operates at peak efficiency. However, it can also make maintenance and repairs faster and easier by enabling an HVAC technician to connect to the control board remotely.
Another great feature of the Infinity 26 24VNA6 is its quiet operation, which is thanks to the variable-speed compressor, the Silencer System II components that reduce vibrations and airflow, and the compressor sound blanket.
Finally, the 24VNA6 has Bluetooth connectivity, meaning an HVAC technician can install updates and troubleshoot problems without even having to come to your home.
Other Key Features
- Has WeatherShield protection to keep the outdoor unit safe from the elements

Warranty Information
The 24VNA6 is backed by Carrier’s best warranty. Along with a 10-year parts warranty that covers the compressor as well, the 24VNA6 also has a 10-year unit replacement warranty, something Carrier hasn’t offered before.
The unit replacement warranty means that Carrier will provide a brand new unit if the compressor fails in the first 10 years of operation.
Note that to be eligible for the full warranty, you must register the 24VNA6 with Carrier within 90 days of installation. Unregistered air conditioners will still be covered, but only for five years.
Comparable Models by Carrier
Model Comparison by Price: Infinity 26 24VNA6 versus Comfort 13 24ABB3
The Comfort 13 24ABB3 is Carrier’s most basic and most affordable air conditioner. It comes from Carrier’s entry-level Comfort tier, so it will cost somewhere between $3,500 and $5,000.
There are some things you'll have to give up with the Comfort 13, including the fact that it has a much lower SEER of 13. For Canada, the ideal SEER range is typically 16 to 18, though the Comfort model might be powerful enough if you live in a very mild climate.
The Comfort 13 is a single-stage air conditioner, and that means it will be less efficient and noisier than the Infinity model, and it’s not as well-equipped when it comes to maintaining the same temperature throughout the entire house.
Finally, the Comfort 13 doesn’t have the unit replacement warranty, as Carrier only offers that warranty protection for the Infinity 26.
Model Comparison by Features: Infinity 26 24VNA6 versus Performance 16 24ACC6
The Performance 16 24ACC6 is a mid-range air conditioner, so it’s going to be more affordable and more basic than the Infinity model.
It’s a single-stage A/C with a SEER 17 and ENERGY STAR certification. It’s not as advanced or as efficient as the Infinity 26, but it should be capable of keeping most Canadian homes cool in the summer without costing too much to operate.
Beyond that, the Performance 16 24ACC6 is a standard air conditioner that’s on par with a lot of others in the market in terms of noise, humidity control, and warranty coverage.
Model Comparison by Tier: Infinity 26 24VNA6 versus Infinity 19VS 24VNA9
The Infinity 19VS 24VNA9 is currently the only other model in Carrier’s premium Infinity tier. The 19VS falls into a similar price range as the Infinity 26, but it will be more affordable for several reasons.
For one, the 19VS has a multi-stage compressor with five stages of operation, compared to the variable-speed capacity of the Infinity 26. The 19VS also has a lower 19 SEER.
That being said, an air conditioner with that efficiency rating is more than capable of keeping most Canadian homes cool during the summer. As a result, the 19VS is probably a better balance between efficiency and cost for most Canadians.
Finally, the 19VS is missing a few of the features offered by the top-of-the-line Infinity 26, including Greenspeed Intelligence and the 10-year unit replacement warranty.
